Initial situation

User management was performed by utilising a simple, inflexible list. New users were created twice, once by the operating department and once by the personnel. The reconciliation of possible inconsistencies was performed simply based on first and family name. Extensions and individually customised authorisations were not feasible. Links to web sites had not been provided for.

 

The solution

Complete reorganisation of the Metadirectory for the step-by-step introduction of a consistent central user management. An authorisation concept was introduced. The goal of user management was extended to iinclude partners on the Internet.

Further on, today the system is poised for future requirements. For instance, an extension to the role based access control, as well as the integration of new applications, would be feasible anytime without effort.
